About Tarteel Academy

Under the guidance of Sh. Ismael Essa, The Muslim Center of Greater Princeton is proud to launch Tarteel Academy!  It is very important that kids, youth and adults learn, memorize and love the Qur'an.  We are offering different programs which will cater to all members of our community and will encourage the revival of learning the book of Allah.  We want to encourage and enable a new generation of leaders who love the book of Allah, memorize it and implement it in their daily lives.  

Sh. Ismael Essa

Founder & Director, Tarteel Academy

Sh. Ismael has been teaching Qur'an to kids, youth and adults for over 20 years and now brings his experience to the Muslim Center of Greater Princeton with the Tarteel Academy.  He is a specialized in Qur’anic Sciences and the ten recitations and graduate of Al-Azhar.   He holds many Ijazaat with connected Sanad to the Prophet (pbuh) for both reciting and teaching the Qur'an.  Read his full bio below.   

Sh. Abeer Mahmoud Mohamed

Instructor, Tarteel Academy

We are blessed to have Sheikha Abeer join Tarteel Academy this year.  She is an avid Islamic scholar with a deep interest in Qur’anic studies. Sr. Amira Abdelrazik

Instructor, Tarteel Academy

We are blessed to have Sr. Amira join Tarteel Academy this year.  She has been teaching Arabic & Qur'an for the last 15 years.  She is a (Hafidhah) memorized the entire Qur'an.  Sr. Amira also is a Quran & Arabic teacher with MGCP School.  Read her full bio below.

New Classes for 2019

Online Sisters Hifz

Focused classes on Hifz.   

  • Sisters only 18+ 

  • Online via conference call 

  • 1 Session: Tuesday 9:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Sisters Halaqa

To enhance recitation skills and developing proper leadership with the Qur’an through understanding, reflections.

  • Recitation, Tajweed, Reflections, Tafsir and Causes of Revelation

  • Maximum 20 students per session. 

Quranic Basics

Focused classes emphases Hifz, Tajweed, Pronunciation, Tafsir and Causes of Revelation.  

  • Ages 8 – 14 (Boys & Girls).  They also must have the ability to read from the Qur’an independently. 

  • Maximum 10 students per session. 

Sisters Hifz

Focused classes on Hifz.   

  • Sisters only 18+ 

  • Maximum 8 students per session. 

  • 2 Sessions: Saturday 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM or 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Full Time Hifz

This program enables each student to go through all the methodologies that are required to memorize the Quran and then retain it after their memorization is completed.

 

Each student will memorize new verses and during part of the day, will revise what has already been memorized.

 

Completion of memorization will depend on multiple factors including the effort that the student and their parents put towards memorization.

  • Students must be between the ages of 10 - 17 years to join. 

  • They must have the ability to read from the Qur’an independently.

  • 5 days a week.  Students must attend all 5 days. 

  • Maximum 7 students capacity 

Part Time Hifz

Weekdays after school, as well as weekend classes for children & youth who are interested in memorizing the Qur’an (or parts thereof) according to their own individual pace and capacity.

 

There are two different levels; Beginners and Advanced.   Levels are based on the ability to read from the Qur’an. Students who can read from the Qur’an independently would be in the Advanced level regardless of their age, otherwise they would be at the Beginners level.

  • Students must be between the ages of 5 - 17 years to join

  • Weekday & Weekend options available.  

  • Maximum 7 students per session.  Weekend capacity will be 10 students per session. 

Adult Hifz

It is designed for 18 years and above, one class per week for those who want to memorize and/or improve their tajweed.

  • Students must be 18 years or older to join.   

  • Student must attend once a week.  Only one level of class will be offered. 

  • For those who want to attend twice a week, there will be a discounted rate. 

  • Maximum 9 students per session.  

Sr. Amira Abdelrazik

Naazirah Program

The goal of this class is to help our students to learn how to read the Qur’an properly and to improve their Tajweed through a very popular book, Noorani Qa'idah (Al-Qawa'id an-Nuraniyah).  The main purpose is to enhance the reading skills of the students and to help them recite the book of Allah fluently, correct their pronunciation and study the rules of tajweed.

Important Note:

  • Two levels of class will be offered.

    • Level 1: Those who do not know anything about alphabet or basics of reading and want to learn how to read.

    • Level 2: Those who know basics and have the ability to read and want to improve and enhance their reading skills.

 

  • Students must be between the ages of 5 - 14 years to join.

  • Student must attend once a week. 

  • Maximum 7 students per session.
