About Tarteel Academy
Under the guidance of Sh. Ismael Essa, The Muslim Center of Greater Princeton is proud to launch Tarteel Academy! It is very important that kids, youth and adults learn, memorize and love the Qur'an. We are offering different programs which will cater to all members of our community and will encourage the revival of learning the book of Allah. We want to encourage and enable a new generation of leaders who love the book of Allah, memorize it and implement it in their daily lives.

Sh. Ismael Essa
Founder & Director, Tarteel Academy
Shaykh Ismael Essa is the Founder & Director of Tarteel Academy, Imam of daily prayers as well as Taraweeh during the blessed month of Ramadan at the Muslim Center of Greater Princeton, MCGP.
-He is Al-Azhar graduate with specialization in Qur’anic Sciences and the Ten recitations.
-He holds many Ijazaat with connected Sanad (Chain of transmission) to the Prophet (ﷺ) for both reciting and teaching the Qur'an in its ten modes.
-He has taught Tajweed, Qira’at and Qur’aninc Sciences at differnt Masajid, institutions in Egypt, U.K. and Ireland.
-He has won several Qur’an competitions in Egypt and also participated in the International Qur’an Competition in Makkah, 2006.
-He started leading Taraweeh at the age of 13.
He has led Traweeh at masjid Al-Birr, UK from 2003 - 2011 then he moved to U.S. in 2012 to serve as an Imam for Taraweeh and Director of Qur’an studies at the Islamic Society of Central Jersey, ISCJ from 2012 - 2018. He has been part of different Qur’an conferences, Qur'an competitions and conventions.

We are blessed to have Sr. Amira be a part of Tarteel Academy this year. She has been teaching Arabic & Qur'an for the last 15 years. She is a (Hafidhah) memorized the entire Qur'an. Sr. Amira also is a Quran & Arabic teacher with MGCP School. Read her full bio below.
2022 - 2023 Academic Year Update
All classes for the Tarteel Academy 2022 - 2023 session will be on-site at MCGP. Registration for existing students, siblings & waitlist will begin on June 12. This will be open for one week and then registration will be open for everyone on June 19. Please review the course catalog and registration policies prior to registering.
First day of classes will be Tuesday September 6! If a session is full please register on the waitlist as spots open up throughout the year.

Financial Aid
We never turn away students due to financial hardships. If you need financial aid please fill out the form below. The board will review and contact you directly.
Full Time Hifz
This program enables each student to go through all the methodologies that are required to memorize the Quran and then retain it after their memorization is completed.
Each student will memorize new verses and during part of the day, will revise what has already been memorized.
Completion of memorization will depend on multiple factors including the effort that the student and their parents put towards memorization.

Students must be between the ages of 10 - 17 years to join.

They must have the ability to read from the Qur’an independently.

5 days a week. Students must attend all 5 days.

Capacity: Maximum 7 students
Part Time Hifz
Weekdays after school, as well as weekend classes for children & youth who are interested in memorizing the Qur’an (or parts thereof) according to their own individual pace and capacity.
There are two different levels; Beginners and Advanced. Levels are based on the ability to read from the Qur’an. Students who can read from the Qur’an independently would be in the Advanced level regardless of their age, otherwise they would be at the Beginners level.

Weekday & Weekend options available.

Maximum 7 students per session. Weekend capacity will be 10 students per session.
Adult Hifz
It is designed for 18 years and above, one class per week for those who want to memorize and/or improve their tajweed.

Students must be 18 years or older to join.

Student must attend once a week. Only one level of class will be offered.

For those who want to attend twice a week, there will be a discounted rate.

Maximum 8 students per session.
Naazirah Program
The goal of this class is to help our students to learn how to read the Qur’an properly and to improve their Tajweed through a very popular book, Noorani Qa'idah (Al-Qawa'id an-Nuraniyah). The main purpose is to enhance the reading skills of the students and to help them recite the book of Allah fluently, correct their pronunciation and study the rules of tajweed.
Important Note:

Two levels of class will be offered.

Level 1: Those who do not know anything about alphabet or basics of reading and want to learn how to read.

Level 2: Those who know basics and have the ability to read and want to improve and enhance their reading skills.

Students must be between the ages of 5 - 14 years to join.

Student must attend once a week.

Maximum 6 students per session.
